ODD/EVEN Uniformity Correction

  1. From the home screen click “SETUP”
  2. Click “SETTING”
  3. Click “PRINTER”
  4. Click “PIXEL CORRECTION”
  5. At the bottom of the screen click “DETAILED ADJUSTMENT”
  6. At the right side of the screen click “USER VALUE REGISTRATION”

A screen will pop up asking “REGISTER?”

Click “YES”

  1. Click “PRINT BY ODD/EVEN NORMAL”

This will print the test that you will use to perform the ODD/EVEN calibration.

  1. While waiting for the test to come out use the windows key on the keyboard and go to

MUCS

            This will start the uniformity software.

  1. When the MUCS program opens, click “ODD/EVEN CORRECTION”

The next 4 screens should already have DEFAULT values specific to your machine. If you are unsure about these settings please contact

QD technical support at 1-800-762-8088. Otherwise use the default values. They should appear as follows:

            MUCS 2 –Click “NEXT”

            TYPE 2 – Click “NEXT”

            Select scanner type (If you’re scanner is not listed select “OTHER” then click “END”

            A SHEET – Click “DETERMINATION”

            Click “DETERMINATION”

                        This will open the Microtek Scansuite.

  1. Double click the Microtek Scan Wizard (The Wizards Hat)
  2. Lay the test print on the flat bed scanner with the cyan bar to the left side of the scanner, face down and not all the way to the bottom of the scanner.
  3. Click “Preview”
  4. Once the preview is displayed, Drag the dotted lines around the preview image as in the display making sure to include all of the cyan bar and all of the yellow bars (including a little of the white area of the print), and a little of the black portion at the top and bottom of the test print.
  5. Click “Scan”
  6. Click “Save” (temp.tif)

Do You Want To Replace? Click “YES”

You may also get a message about the hard drive. Click “Yes”

  1. Once the scan is complete WAIT FOR THE SCANNER TO RESET TO THE HOME POSITION! Once the scanner has stopped close the

Scanner preview and scansuite. (the little guy in the lower left corner)

  1. In a few moments a box will appear – Click “START OF CORRECTION”
  2. When this is complete another window will appear titled “IN CALCULATION OF CORRECTION VALUE”

Click “ALL YES and “DETERMINATION”

  1. Click “END” This should take you back to the “PIXEL CORRECTION VALUE ADJUSTMENT” screen.
  2. Click “RENEWAL OF PIXEL CORRECTION” in the top right side of the screen.
  3. Click “YES” to register the new values.

If you get an error about the HEAD=R FILE Click “CONTINUE”

You have now successfully completed an ODD/EVEN correction.
