EST Adjustment Procedure for VFPH Tubes
Explanation of Procedure: There are 5 print tubes in the QD21 print head. 4 of those tubes are VFPH type tubes and are used for Yellow & Magenta exposure, 2 for the "A" lane and 2 for the "B:" lane. By viewing the EST values for each print head, you can estimate the life expectancy of the tubes. In addition, there should be as little difference as possible between the "A" & "B" lanes for each set of tubes. When the difference between the "A" & "B" lanes becomes too great, it will be difficult to match the color from one lane to the other. Also, "Center Banding" may become more noticeable. With type 3 heads there is a procedure that can possibly gain greater equality of EST values from "A" to "B" lanes. The following procedure is outlined below.
This procedure can NOT be performed if your print tubes utilize the head shields on the VFPH glass!
