Change in Operational Procedures for all QD-21 Digital Mini-Labs

Please be advised that Konica Photo Imaging is initiating the following operational procedure changes for all labs that have a QD-21 system.

Note: Please be sure to use Personal Chemical Safety Equipment anytime there is a possibility of coming in contact with photo processing chemical solutions.

Before setting the QD-21 into timer mode each evening, the #1, #2 and #3 crossovers need to be removed. Once the crossovers are removed, rinse each crossover under warm running water. While rinsing the crossovers , turn one of the gears on each of the crossovers. This will ensure that all surfaces of the crossover rollers and gears will be properly rinsed. After the crossovers are rinsed, return the crossovers to their correct place inside the processor section of the QD-21.

Additionally, once a week the P-1 processing rack will need to be removed and rinsed with warm water. Draw the P-1 processing rack out of the chemical solution slowly, so the solution drains from the inside of the rack, and place it in the tray that was provided with the QD-21. The processing rack should be removed before setting the QD-21 into the timer mode.

These procedures are being put into place to insure optimal performance from the QD-21.
